Actress and humanitarian Audrey Hepburn is one fabulous role model. She was born on May 4, 1929, in Brussels, Belgium. She started out as a model, but was discovered by film producers who hired her for her first acting gig in a European film, Nederlands in 7 Lessen, when she was just 19. She later moved to the United States and landed the lead role of Princess Ann in the movie Roman Holiday, for which she won an Oscar for best actress. She appeared in over 30 incredible films, including Sabrina, Funny Face, and Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Charlotte Brontë is among the world's most famous authors. She was born on April 21, 1816 into a family of writers. Brontë's works, along with those of her sisters Anne and Emily, are taught in literature classes all over the world. In 1847, she published her most famous novel, Jane Eyre, under the pen name Currer Bell. Her work focused on the oppression of women and was extremely progressive for her time.
Activist Coretta Scott King was born on April 27, 1927, in Heiberger, Alabama. From a young age she had an active interest in civil rights. She joined the NAACP as well as the Race Relations and Civil Liberties Committees while an undergraduate at Antioch College. After she graduated, she earned a scholarship to study concert singing at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. While studying there, she met Martin Luther King, Jr., whom she married soon after. She and her husband became prominent figures in the Civil Rights Movement, traveling all across the world to speak against racism.
Ella Fitzgerald, the "First Lady of Song", was born on April 25, 1917. As a child, Fitzgerald often went to the Apollo Theater with her mother and stepfather. In 1934, she performed at Amateur Night at the Apollo. She planned to dance, but at the last minute, decided to sing. Her performance got a standing ovation from the crowd and after the show the Apollo's band saxophonist approached her, interested in helping her develop her career. She made her first recording at age 19 and at age 21 she recorded the single "A-Tisket, A-Tasket" which sold over a million copies. Over the span of her career she recorded more than 200 albums.
Famed nurse Florence Nightingale was born on May 12, 1820, in Florence, Italy. Her family moved back to England when her father inherited an estate from his late relative, Peter Nightingale. Growing up in England, Florence didn't like the lack of opportunity for women in her social circle, so she started visiting hospitals. She enjoyed caring for the sick and after a trip to the Institute of Protestant Deaconesses at Kaiserwerth, a training school for female teachers and nurses in Germany, Florence had found her calling. When she returned to England, she continued visiting hospitals, inspected the hospitals at Edinburgh and Dublin and in 1853 took her first administrative position as the superintendent of the Hospital for Invalid Gentlewomen.
American author Harper Lee was born on April 28, 1926 in Monroeville, Alabama. She is most widely known for her novel To Kill a Mockingbird which was published in 1960 and won a Pulitzer Prize in 1961. The novel was adapted in a film in 1962. The novel is praised for its humor and warmth even though it deals with racial inequality in America. Her novel is read in English classes all over the United States.
Tina Fey is one funny lady." The comedy writer and actress was born on May 18, 1970 in Darby, Pennsylvania. She was discovered in 1995 by Saturday Night Live screenwriter Adam McKay, and became the first female writer in the show's history. In 2004, she started writing for films, writing the screenplay for and acting in the movie Mean Girls. " In 2006, she left SNL to write and act in her own show, 30 Rock.

I am a taurus!!! This article was so appropriate because all of my friends think tauruses are just hotheads...but this is totally untrue looking at classy ladies like Audrey Hepburn & Florence Nightingale.
