Submit Your Art!
Be sure to read our contest guidelines before submitting your Art Contest entry!
Submission Policy
Thank you for entering our Artist of the Month Contest!
If you are between 13 and 19 years of age at the time of submission, you may send Teen Voices as many of your own works as you want. Please note that a 'work' may include, but is not limited to, your original artwork, poetry, essays, photographs and/or performances. Make sure your name, age, home address (with zip code), phone number and email address are written on everything you send to Teen Voices.
Generally, we will publish only your full name, age, and state of residence unless otherwise requested by you or your parent or guardian. We reserve the right to withhold publication of your name in some instances. If you do not want us to publish your name, please let us know.
Submission of any Work for publication in Teen Voices shall confer upon Teen Voices a royalty-free, non-exclusive, transferrable license to reproduce, display and publish your Work, and to authorize others to reproduce, display and publish your Work, in any manner, medium or form. Teen Voices reserves the right to edit your submitted Work, prior to publication. Because of the volume of submissions we receive, we cannot publish everything. We will contact you if and when we publish your Work.
If you are not yet 18 years of age at the time you submit your Work, ask your parent or guardian to read this Policy, and be sure you have their permission to contribute to Teen Voices. We will require a signed or online parental permission form before your work can be published.
By submitting your work, you are also confirming that you have read and understand Teen Voices' Submission Policy, and that your work is wholly your own creation, and completely original.

First off, transferable is spelled incorrectly, one too many "r"s in there. Second off, the real reason I
copy pasted the above quote is because your terms are worded too ambiguously, and any artist who strives to take themselves seriously may feel thrown off by it. What do you mean by non-exclusive? And what do you mean by "others"? Others working for your magazine, other companies, other what? And by edit, do you mean simply cropping or shrinking the work a little to make it fit strategically within your website/magazine or are we talking more drastic, reworking editing here? Is this a non-terminating contract? Explain what you mean by transferable license? The web definition I got from google says;
"The only licenses that are transferable are 06 (bar), 07 (beer and wine bar) and 09 (liquor store). These licenses may transfer from one person to another, and from one location to another, provided the new location is in the same county. See PERSON TRANSFER and LOCATION TRANSFER. ARS 4-203."
My point is, clarify what you mean. This is a contest for children and many of them aren't familiar with the lingo you're using. I'm sure some, like myself, will hesitate in joining this contest because, as a growing artist, I care for my work and if I hand the rights of my work to someone else, I want to understand how it will be used and if I should be concerned. Best regards, and I apologize for the length.

Hi-
Our consent form was written by a lawyer so that it would be legally binding. If you have questions about what all of this means, please feel free to call us, and/or you may want to contact a lawyer yourself. Sorry this is so complicated!
I love this! I just entered my art work! c:
I am so excited about someone knew seeing my paintings! I've worked hard, and I would just love to see something of mine published.
Send it in! We are anxious to see it!
