Mother, I’m a lot like you,
In more ways than one.
You know that special thing you do,
That others couldn’t have done?
You know, being empathic has been passed,
To me, from you.
You may not have known that in the past,
But, hey, now you do.
Sensing moods, I’ve done it all my life,
Though I could have sworn I’d told.
Whether the mood be joy or strife,
I’ll sense them all till I’m old.
Thank you for this special gift,
Of sensing moods and such.
So, here is something to make your mood lift,
I love you oh so much.
