Is there a specific theme? Or do you create your own?
There's a different theme each month for the Artist of the Month contest. The first theme, for art due by Jan. 31, is girls in schools.
What is the Theme for Jan 2012?
Girls in Schools. We hope you submit!
Are we allowed to know what each theme is for each month beforehand? (For example, knowing all 12 themes in this month time, January) Or can we only know when it is currently that month?
Also, in order to qualify, are you required to send at least one work of art per month or can you skip some months and not send anything but still be eligible for Artist of the Month or Year since you still sent work during other months (For example, not sending anything in January but submitting pieces in March and June)? Thanks
We hope to post the themes for all 12 months within the next week or so...We are still finalizing them. We will let you know as soon as we know!
You may submit as often as you want. You definitely do not need to submit something every month to be eligible to be Artist of the Year. Our facebook readership will vote among the 12 semi-finalists next Jan (2013) and the artist with the most votes will win Artist of the Year. So the more artwork you submit each month between now and then, the more likely your artwork will be selected as Artist of the Month, the stepping stone to being Artist of the Year...

Thanks
PLease according to what do you choose artist of the year ?
Thanks
What is the cut off date each month?
The 12 Artists of the Month will be semi-finalists for the Artist of the Year. Next January (2013), our Facebook followers will vote among these 12 artists/pieces of art to determine the winner.
The cut off date each month is midnight on the last day of the month.
Does the entry have to be visual art, or can it be a piece of writing?(:
For the Artist of the Month contest, your art needs to be visual art (or a photo of it, if it's something like a sculpture). If you have a piece of writing you'd like to share, we'd love to see it! Just submit it through our home page where the photo of the pencils is and it says "get published" (in the grey horizontal bar). Thanks
Hi I was curious as to what is the currant theme? also, when is the deadline for each month?
the publishing policay says "Submission of any Work for publication in Teen Voices shall confer upon Teen Voices a royalty-free, non-exclusive, transferrable license to reproduce, display and publish your Work, and to authorize others to reproduce, display and publish your Work, in any manner, medium or form."
Does this mean you'll actually lose the rights to the work you posted and 'give" it to Teen Voice. If not, does it still allow Teen Voice to, for instance, make prints out of it and sell them (so for commercial use). I'd really like to know this before I post my work up here
