March’s Artist of the Month: Kristin Huff
Our Facebook fans voted, and, we’re pleased to announce that Kristin Huff, 17, of Virginia, is the March contest winner! When asked to describe her inspiration for her submission, “Behind the Beauty,” Huff wrote: “I was inspired to create this one night when I was flipping through a magazine and I became so frustrated with how much the media emphasizes what ‘beauty’ is. The media promotes negative ways to be beautiful rather than embracing natural beauty.”
April Art Contest Theme: Power and Leadership
Power is such a complex word. We hear it all the time, but what is power, really? Where does it come from? How do you get it? What does power look like? How does the “in” crowd at your school gain power and how do they use it? What about those who feel powerless? Is power the leaders, politicians, or our nations? Or is power lay in the hands of the people? What if people everywhere used their power only for good, instead of bad?
February Artist of the Month Contest: Love
This month, we want you to show us the love. Love comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. What do you think true love look like? Does it come in the form of a kind-hearted friend who always sticks up for you? Is love a faithful dog who waits patiently by the bus stop for you after school? Is it romance–is love simply the butterflies in your stomach from your first kiss? Is love always happiness, or does love also come with pain and heartache? Get creative and show us where your heart lies this month.
