Movie Review: “Someday Melissa”

The documentary “Someday Melissa” is an informational and eye-opening story. This film is about a girl who, at 19 years old, lost her life. The young woman in the documentary, Melissa Avrin, had an eating disorder and the movie brings awareness about eating disorders, in general, and the way an eating disorder consumed the life of Melissa, specifically. In the documentary, Melissa’s family and friends tell her story and share their point of view on this disorder.

March’s Artist of the Month: Kristin Huff

Our Facebook fans voted, and, we’re pleased to announce that Kristin Huff, 17, of Virginia, is the March contest winner! When asked to describe her inspiration for her submission, “Behind the Beauty,” Huff wrote: “I was inspired to create this one night when I was flipping through a magazine and I became so frustrated with how much the media emphasizes what ‘beauty’ is. The media promotes negative ways to be beautiful rather than embracing natural beauty.”
